About Foley, AL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

In 1901 John B. Foley, a businessman from Chicago, heard about land available for sale in South Baldwin County. He came, he saw, and he bought somewhere between forty and fifty thousand acres and formed the Magnolia Springs Land Company to sell the parcels. By paying for the crossties, he was able to persuade Louisville & Nashville Railroad to build an extension to the area from Bay Minette, and the town of Foley took off.

Incorporated in 1915, Foley started as a farming town producing a variety of crops, especially potatoes, but today top employers include the Foley Hospital Corporation, manufacturers Rohr Aero Services, a subsidiary of Goodrich, and Vulcan Materials, and major retailers Wal-Mart and Lowe's. There are five public schools in the Baldwin County School District, two private schools, and a large public library.

One of the largest festivals in the area, and possibly the most unique in the state, is Heritage Harbor Days in November. The city of Foley loads a shrimp boat with representatives of Southern Alabama culture – food, music, crafts, history – and sends it to an exchange city. Then for two days, Foley hosts the cultural ambassadors that arrive on the other city's boat. There are also holiday festivals and a Flower and Garden Extravaganza in April.  With a mix of both modern and historical attractions; Foley is home to both the Foley Downtown Historic District, a National Register of Historic Places site, as well as the Tanger Outlet Center, one of the largest outlet malls in Alabama. Museums include the Foley L&N Railroad Museum and Archives and the Baldwin Museum of Art.

Temperatures range from average summer highs of 91 to average winter highs of 61, and rain year-round supports a rich ecology. For outdoor recreation, there are three golf courses in the area, and white sand beaches are only 20 minutes away in Gulf Shores.
