About Bay Minette, AL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

The town of Bay Minette, county seat of Baldwin County, is a typical historic Southern town with a rich natural environment, friendly neighbors, and a measured pace of life. Named for Minette Bay, which got its name from Minet, a French surveyor, the town has quite interesting and somewhat illicit origins. The town boomed when it became a junction for Louisville & Nashville Railroad in 1861, and due to its central location, Bay Minette was declared the county seat in 1900. When the then-current county seat of Daphne refused to hand over the court records, Bay Minette officials tricked Daphne's sheriff into responding to a made-up murder while they stole the records from the Daphne courthouse.

Bay Minette enjoys a humid subtropical climate tempered by the nearby Gulf of Mexico with average daytime highs of 60 in the winter and 90 in the summer, and over five feet of rain distributed evenly throughout the year. Because of the nearly year-round growing season, soybeans, wheat, potatoes, and pecans have had prominent roles in Bay Minette's economy, as well as timber due to its extensive pine forests. Top employers today include the Baldwin County Board of Education and the Baldwin County government, as well as Standard Furniture Manufacturing Company. This tiny city of nearly eight thousand is served by five public schools in Baldwin County School District and a branch of Faulkner State Community College. There are several historical sites and innumerable outdoor activities to enjoy as well as holiday festivals and other events in the city, and Mobile Bay is only 30 minutes away. Despite being situated between several large cities – Mobile to the southeast, Pensacola to the east, and Biloxi to the west – Bay Minette retains a rural, historical feel that has even drawn filmmakers to the area.
